They protect us from the wind, rain, sun and snow. People have used a rich variety of materials to cover their roof. 

The material of the roof were traditionally derived from a mixture of what material is available in the area, what type of weather they get and the ingenuity of those living there. 

In an essence, the roof tells you so much about where you are standing.
